Weezer Pays Tribute To Guns N’ Roses In New Music Video

Weezer, an alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1992, has just released a music video for their new single “Feels Like Summer.” The video drew its inspiration, one could say rather heavily, from a massively popular ’80s music video. Check it out below:

In what appears to be good fun, the band painstakingly recreated iconic images from the video for Guns N’ Roses “Paradise City” down to great detail. Even the opening shots of the stadium and merchandise stands are instantly recognizable! Fully committing to the bit, vocalist Rivers Cuomo and his partners don Gn’R-inspired garb, posing as Axl Rose and company. The resemblance is truly impressive. Here’s the Guns N’ Roses original, so you can compare them yourselves:

Weezer released this video in a very timely manner, as Guns N’ Roses just celebrated the 30th anniversary of their legendary Appetite For Destruction album. Weezer’s new song is great, and the video is a real visual treat. But what we at WOGA really take away from this is that the songs we love are enduring. Just a few seconds into Weezer’s new video, we were taken right back to Paradise City. It says a lot that bands today are still proudly wearing the influence of, and paying tribute to, the rock pioneers of the 80’s.

The greatest hits of all time never go out of style, and we’ve got them all on WOGA!
