Foreigner Musical on the Way

Foreigner, one of the reigning champions of rock ‘n roll, have confirmed that their music is being adapted into a musical. The massively successful band has sold over 80 million records worldwide during the span of their four decade career, and the tunes that have been loved by audiences around the world for years will be hitting a very different type of stage next year.

Not much is known about the musical thus far. The title isĀ Jukebox Hero, and it’s been vaguely described as a coming-of-age tale revolving around the band’s music. According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the story will feature a Pennsylvania factory in danger of closing and a famous resident returning to town in an effort to save it. That’s really about all we know in regards to the story.

One of the key points of a musical, obviously, is the music. While we don’t have the full setlist yet, we’ve heard that “I Want To Know What Love Is,” “Cold As Ice,” “Hot Blooded,” and “I’ve Been Waiting For A Girl Like You,” will be featured, in addition to the title track. It sounds like they’ve got the big hits covered. The musical premieres in Alberta, Canada next August.

Don’t forget, they’re not the only rockstars hitting the theater stage. Not long ago, we shared the news that Springsteen is headed for Broadway!
