And The Most Streamed Song from the 20th Century Is…

A lot of great music came out of the 20th Century.. and we love a lot of it! Afterall, WOGA plays all the hits of the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s! Now that music streaming has become so popular.. what do you think is the single most streamed song from the 20th century?

Queen reigns supreme, even decades after frontman Freddie Mercury’s death. The group’s 1975 hit “Bohemian Rhapsody” is now the most-streamed song from the 20th century, recently soaring past songs like Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” A-ha’s “Take on Me,” and Gun’s N’Roses’ “Sweet Child O’Mine” and “November Rain.” It’s also the most-streamed classic rock song of all time, having racked up more than 1.6 billion streams around the world across all major streaming services. “Bohemian Rhapsody” also has another pop culture distinction. It’s widely-credited with being the first promotional music video, paving the way for the MTV generation. “So the River of Rock Music has metamorphosed into streams! Very happy that our music is still flowing to the max!” guitarist Brian May said.
